Increase Your Self-Esteem Using The Law Of Substitution

Once again, at the beginning of the article I want to remind you that high self-esteem equals good relationship, achievements in business, strong health and finances. The development of your self-esteem opens the door to your special wonderland you always dreamed of.

In this article I want to talk about our brilliant mental ability, which is going to help you to increase your self-esteem. By this ability I mean the law of substitution.  The law is very simple – our mind is able to keep only one thought in a time. The moment one thought comes to mind the other leaves

There are two usual thought givers: subconscious and conscious. Subconscious mainly gives us the flow of thoughts to keep us safe and worm in our comfort zone. It says things like: “Don’t go there, it’s frightening.” “Don’t do that. You are going to be embarrassed”  “Don’t start that project, you are going to fail.” Subconscious also mistakenly describes your appearance and abilities like “You are not strong enough, wise enough, educated enough, beautiful enough, worthy enough and good enough. You can’t, you can’t, you can’t.” the result of such thoughts, of course,   anxiety, disappointment, frustration and lack of self-esteem.

To our luck, we have the great tool to deal with our subconscious. We have our conscious mind. What is great about it is that we choose the thoughts to think with it, and that if we think with conscious mind – subconscious mind stays quiet and listens. That means that every time we do not like the thought in our mind we can substitute it with another one our conscious decides to think.

I think it is understood how to use this law of substitution. Every time your low self-esteem tells you bad things about you or talk you out of the thing you desire, you consciously choose to think the antagonist thought. For example you are told you can’t call someone (your friend, your boss, your spouse, your doctor); substitute this with the thought that you can. It is better to say it: “I can, I can I can”

Or may be you are too afraid to fly in the plane. Your subconscious tells you, you are going to die in the airplane accident. You can substitute the thought with the picture of your plane softly landing the ground, and everyone applauding to the pilot.

Or may be you are extremely worried before the job interview.  You think you are going to fail, look stupid, won’t be able to answer the questions right. Just stop! Start thinking that you know everything you will be asked. Visualize yourself calmly and confidently speaking to the recruiter.

Sometimes it is even better to think not only the opposite thought, but just absolutely different thoughts. Like if you are worried before the exam, think about your last trip or a great party you recently had with your friends. It is also to think of your goals like for example the house you want to live or a car you want to drive.

Using the substitution of the negative thought about yourself, taking control over your self destructing thinking can increase your self-esteem. It is not so easy when you begin using this law of substitution, but like everything in our life, when is done systematically becomes a habit. This law can also become your habit, if you want it to. So start using this unique mind ability the moment you leave our internet page. Substitute your low self-esteem to the new high self-esteem you have chosen to achieve!
