Stress is any external pressure that
contributes to negative psychological and
physiological responses within us.
Unfortunately there are people and places
in life that don’t help when we’re in this bad
situation.
Sometimes the thing that is stressing us
out the most is the place we work.
According to the World Health
Organization, job stress is a ‘World Wide
Epidemic.’
Deal with the danger of stress.
There was a time when I had to deal with
some new challenges and I found it difficult
to deal with the pressures that were flying
at me.
The main problem with stress is what it
can imply to your health.
High blood Pressure, Headaches and Migraines,
Nervousness, Insomnia, Asthma, High Blood
Pressure and many more.
Here are some tips that will help you
overcome stress.
1. Deep breathing
Deliberately breathing deeply will
help you slowdown your heart rate,
which is vital when you are stressed,
because your body normally goes
into what is called “survival mode.”
When you are stressed, this can
cause your heart rate to increase as
if you were on the alert due to some
form of danger.
This form of breathing should involve
deep breaths inwards through the
nostrils causing your stomach to
push outwards and exhaling through
the mouth making sure that you
deliberately make a gentle sighing
sound.
2. Food
· Drink more water and less caffeinated
drinks to help you body during this
time.
· Avoid foods full of salt as this will
raise your blood pressure beyond
normal.
· Thirdly try eating more fruit and green
vegetables, whole grains and fish,
but cut down on processed foods
especially white sugar.
3. Exercise
Take up some form of sport to
increase the aerobic activity of your
body. This will make it a lot easier
for you to relax after such physical
exertion.
4. Speech and thinking
Negative speech produces negative
thoughts and negative emotions.
There are so many illnesses that stem
from thinking negatively and being
depressed.
Keep an eye on the way you think,
think about things that are lovely,
good and contribute to making you
feel happy.
Pressure is something that comes to us all
in different forms, but what we do with that
pressure determines where we will be
tomorrow.
